Holy shit, how postmodern is this? July 17, 2006

Shelley the Republican weighs in on how liberals rely on satire, thus using satire to satirize the left’s satire while simultaneously satirizing the right’s hatred of the left and poor argumentation. Thus the subject of satire is the post itself, posts like it, AND those who disagree with posts like it.

I think my head just exploded. They do good work over there.

I think maybe the link’s wrong here…

Good to play pirates with you the other day, btw. :-)

Sorry the second round sucked so much; sometimes those swabs just can’t shoot a cannon to save their lives.

[...] The other day, I also noticed what has to be the most insightful comment ever about STR.com – I’m not sure I agree with Evil Bender’s deconstruction of the site – I think he is crediting the authors with far too much intelligence. [...]

That Shelley post was a work of art. What do you think about Heteropride? http://www.heteropride.com/ I just blogged about their site. Satire? I’m not sure.

I don’t think they’re serious. This is the part that makes me suspect that: ”
Many people find themselves dating and actively pursuing relationships with members of the opposite sex. For whatever their reasons, sooner or later they realize that their feelings and thoughts of heterosexual, opposite-sex attractions cannot be ignored.”

But it could be they think they’re making fun of gay pride, so it’s hard to say.

Yea, it is a satire. A few months back, there was a page associate to the disclaimer named meaning and purpose. I’ve read it myself, and it was saying that the site was a satire. You can still see trace of this on ubuntuforums.org Tristan also said it was a joke in some google groups a few months back.
