Controversy (kinda) July 18, 2006

Usually I can count on my readers to generate some entertaining controversy around here, but as it’s been quiet of late, I’ll direct you to what is apparently my most controversial recent post. Yup, that’s right, the one about Shelley the Republican. Stodge.org apparently takes issue with my post:
The other day, I also noticed what has to be the most insightful comment ever about STR.com – I’m not sure I agree with Evil Bender’s deconstruction of the site – I think he is crediting the authors with far too much intelligence.
Of course, this is all in good fun, but since no one is actually debating anything else that’s been happening here recently, I’ll mention that, yes, I might be giving Shelley too much credit. But that would just make my point: if satire itself has become indistinguishable from stupidity, what kind of world do we live in? Well, postmodern is still a word that might apply.
Oh and Randi, don’t worry: you’re not the only one around here addicted to such things. Perhaps luaphacim will regale us with tales of Bro Marty one if these days.

I cannot work out if STR is subtle or crude, or perhaps trancends the spectrum of subtlty/crudity. Are they nutters or just nutters. You tell me.
