Suggesting that facts should be taught in science class and contradicting falsehoods does not make one a bigot. It’s amazing to me that no matter how much power they get, the Religious Right seems to think they’re the ones being oppressed. Maybe that just makes it easier to sleep at night. After all, we’ll never see them admit that in the US, they’re the ones doing most of the oppressing.

The good news is that calling others bigots is time they can’t spend denying gay rights and banning books.

Evilbender:The good news is that calling others bigots is time they can’t spend denying gay rights

Calling something a “gay right” is tactic many on the “pro-homosexual” side use to obfuscate the truth. Let’s take marriage for example which by definition is an institution between people of the opposite sex. Those on the “gay rights” side who want to radically redefine this institution frame the debate in the terms of “gay rights”. It is a clever way to get unprepared opponents to cede immense ground by having them refer to the radical redefinition agenda as a “gay rights” issue. Those who are more prepared recognize the tactic as the logical fallacy called petitio principii . In other words the gay activist’s premise that the redefinition of marriage is a “gay rights” issue assumes the conclusion it purports to prove; and that is simply the faulty application of elementary logic.

Where can I find a copy of this mysterious “homosexual agenda”? Is it written on cocktail napkins in bars on Fire Island or something?

4. Carpus - October 21, 2006

No, it’s in the same dictionary where you’ll find ‘marriage’ and ‘gay activist’. But you shouldn’t use the phrase ‘gay activist’; it’s something called petitio principii, or so I hear.

You know, the weird thing about that is that the heterosexual agenda is on almost everything you see. I’m going to have to go to my next secret, homosexual agenda meeting and demand that we publicize. If any of you guys know the secret handshake, you can get in. Bonus points if you bring a young, hot, easily confused teenager. After all, all we want to do is corrupt the yout’ of ‘mercia.

Do I REALLY want to know the secret handshake?

It’s a lot of fun….
