Without them, I probably would never have realized that some creepy-ass anti-choicer has put together a great list of people who are pro-choice. I know the list is largely just a duplicate of the one that bushvchoice put up, but it’s still handy to have around. Hell, I’ve found some great reading material.
He’s got great stuff: pictures of aborted fetuses, because when you can’t make a real argument, gross pictures have to do. He also offers this gem:
BTW, abortion isn’t wrong because it’s murder; even though it is murder. Abortion is wrong for the same reason murder is wrong: Abortion destroys a being who was made in the image of God.
Oh, poor fundies. The only reason they can imagine that killing is wrong is because God says so. They have trouble believing that murder might simply be wrong for any other reason than “hey, that person’s kinda like God.” Wouldn’t, “hey, that person’s a person?” work much better?
But that won’t happen, because that would involve actually caring about others, rather than caring about what one’s religion says to carry about.
Since I do care about other humans, I don’t want them to be forced to bear children against their will. I don’t want them to be forced to let other organisms make use of their body without their consent. I don’t want them to be told they can’t make choices about their own bodies simply because someone else thinks it is wrong for religious reasons. And most of all, I don’t think that faux-concern over a fetus should trump the well-being and rights of a woman.
very interesting. I also find it interesting that while the guy probably never stumbled upon my entry for choice, it makes me wonder if he did and didn’t include it because I decided to have my child?
Well, when a woman chooses to have her child, it undercuts their idea that what pro-choicers want is to murder babies, so it’s no surprise he’d ignore it.
