8 Facts about Evil Bender July 6, 2007

The Rev. BigDumbChimp tagged me, and so I belatedly accept.
- We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
- Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
- People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
- At the end of your blog post, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
- Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
Fact-o-rama:
- I’m this weird mix of Jewish and apparently rootless Aryan. I identify as Jewish, culturally, but obviously I don’t practice.
- I’m the oldest of 9(!!!) kids. Insert your own jokes in the comments.
- I enjoy playing games in which I push miniatures around a table and crush my opponents’ mystical armies. I will give you reason to fear Wood Elves–or at least laugh at my nerdiness.
- I have scared myself silly playing Resident Evil 4 at 2 AM in the dark.
- Speaking of Resident Evil, if Zombies ever attack, I am fully prepared, and am totally the guy you want to find to help you survive. Unfortunately, this is my most marketable skill.
- My dog is named after Seamus Heaney. If you’ve ever seen me with my dog, you know what high praise this is for Mr. Heaney.
- I believe that every situation in life can be enlightened with an appropriate quote from either The Simpsons or Futurama.
- It’s been raining there every day for like nine weeks straight, but I’d still rather be in Dublin.

You sound like my kind of geek. This is why I love teh innernets. I never get to meet such like-minded people in real life.
Groucho: So tell us about yourself sir.
Contestant: Well, I have nine children, Groucho.
Groucho: Nine children? How do you account for that?
Contestant: Well, I love my wife.
Groucho: I love my cigar too, but I take it out of my mouth once in a while.
While we may not actually be into Warhammer,(Husband was once an avid player) we are two very huge comic book/anime geeks with a serious problem. We’re even raising a little geek. our problem is so bad that we are actually taking a family vacation to Comic Con International in San Diego the weekend AFTER we go to Otakon in Baltimore.
Geek week 2007. haha.
9 kids isn’t so bad. My wife’s family has 16. Top that.
And I would laugh at your nerdiness, except I’m similar to you. Not nearly as nerdy, mind, you, but enough that we’re all in the same boat.
Irving: Awesome!
HolyFatMan: I wish my family vacations growing up had been so good.
In general, I want to go to highschools and tell young nerds that once they get into the real world, we totally rule. I wish someone had told me that.
I Wish someone told me that as well. I tell my daughter everyday and make sure she knows that women with critical thinking skills, self respect and knowledge are the ones who make a real difference. And…it’s OKAY to be a nerd.
Speaking of Comic Con, Groening will be hosting a Futurama panel with the cast all there. We’ll have a sneak peek at the new episodes!
So excited!
Oh…jealous! I’ll be in your debt if you post your thoughts when you get back from the Con.
I’ll be live blogging the entire Con—with video and photos. It’s just too awesome to pass up an opportunity like that!
