One thing I don’t recall having been mentioned: Stein says he spent 2 years travelling he world, and talked to “scores” of scientists who were discriminated against because of their belief in ID. Yet when it came time to make the movie, they could only come up with 6 – and only 4 of those are actually scintists – one of the others is a teacher, and one a journalist. (Not to mention that in all 6 cases the claims are laughably simple to refute).

The funny thing is that in recent research, ID’s canards of irreducible complexity and informational vacuum have been used.

…Only, they’re used as examples of theories and hypothesis that don’t pan out.

Like the flagellum protein motor; the proteins have been found to exist in other, simpler, constructions. ID gave them the idea, in a way, to look for their proteins elsewhere when it hypothesized that ‘take any one protein away, and the motor would not work, and these proteins are not used elsewhere in the cell’ – well, not this cell, but a predecessor.

Stein’s message is that the attack on freedom of inquiry is anti-science, anti-American and anti-the whole concept of learning. His dramatization should force the public, and maybe even academia, to address this extraordinary intolerance of diversity.

This is the same line of “reasoning” the Holocaust deniers use when complaining about how their “research” is excluded from university history departments.

Oh,and did you notice the news yesterday? OCS, the group that “supported” Sternberg’s claim that he was harrassed, was raided by the FBI yesterday. Seems they have misused their authority, and there may be prison time. Will Schlafly comment?
